Facilities & Grounds Maintenance Technician

The Opportunity
The Facilities & Grounds Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the safety, appearance, and functionality of Landmark Funeral Group's facilities and grounds. This position performs preventative maintenance, general repairs, landscaping, seasonal property maintenance, and facility inspections across multiple funeral home locations. The technician helps ensure each property reflects Landmark's commitment to providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the families and communities we serve.
What You’ll Do
Facility Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on funeral home buildings, offices, garages, and other company facilities.
- Complete preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, doors, windows, locks, and mechanical systems.
- Inspect facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs, equipment deficiencies, and safety concerns.
- Maintain parking lots, sidewalks, fencing, exterior lighting, signage, and other property infrastructure.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations.
- Assist with facility renovations, remodeling projects, and capital improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate specialized repairs and projects with outside contractors as directed.
Grounds & Property Maintenance
- Maintain landscaping, including mowing, trimming, edging, mulching, planting, watering, pruning, and weed control.
- Perform seasonal property maintenance, including snow removal, salting walkways, leaf removal, and seasonal decorations.
- Ensure all exterior areas remain clean, attractive, and safe for employees, visitors, and families.
Equipment & Inventory
- Operate and maintain maintenance and landscaping equipment safely and efficiently.
- Keep tools, equipment, and maintenance vehicles clean, organized, and in good working condition.
- Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies, landscaping materials, and repair equipment.
- Report equipment failures and recommend replacement or repair when necessary.
- Safety & Compliance
- Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and safe work practices.
- Identify and report potential safety hazards promptly.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct while working in and around funeral services and families.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, landscaping, or a related field preferred.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and general maintenance practices.
- Ability to safely operate landscaping and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Commercial building maintenance experience.
- Experience maintaining multiple facilities or properties.
- Landscaping or horticulture experience.
- Basic computer skills for completing work orders and maintenance records.
- Monument handling or installation experience.
